An Easy Start to Better Coffee, Without Compromise
Want to start making coffee at home with ease, but don’t want to compromise on the quality?
The TIMEMORE Chestnut C5 Coffee Grinder is a hand grinder designed for exactly that. It addresses some of the common challenges of hand grinding, including difficulty grinding, inconsistent particle size, and excess fines.
New 42mm Conical Burrs
The C5 features TIMEMORE’s newly developed S2C-042-III conical burrs. Its unique S2C (Spike to Cut) design first catches and breaks the beans before grinding them into finer particles, helping to reduce the production of fines.
The 42mm, seven-blade burrs are designed to catch beans efficiently, making the grinder easier to turn—even when grinding dense, light-roasted beans.
Precise Grind Adjustment
The C5 offers fine grind adjustment with 48 settings per rotation, with each click changing the burr spacing by 0.031mm.
A “click” refers to each distinct stop you feel when turning the adjustment dial. Changing the number of clicks allows you to control the fineness of the grounds.
Lower numbers produce a finer grind, while higher numbers produce a coarser grind, making it easy to fine-tune your grind according to your dripper, coffee beans, and roast level.
The C5 features a numbered adjustment dial, so there’s no need to count clicks. Simply set the dial to your desired number and achieve a more consistent grind each time.
Durable All-Metal Construction
Precision engineering and manufacturing help minimize shaft wobble, providing a stable grinding experience.
The one-piece all-metal body, made from aluminum alloy and stainless steel, resists flexing and provides a solid, stable feel while grinding.
With a slim 53mm diameter body, the C5 is comfortable to hold and easy to grip, even for those with smaller hands. The grounds container can hold approximately 25g, making it suitable for grinding enough coffee for up to two cups at a time.

How It Affects Flavor
The C5’s new burrs help produce a more consistent particle size while minimizing fines.
With fewer fines, there is less chance of unwanted bitterness and astringency during extraction, allowing the coffee’s natural character to come through more clearly. When there are more fines, they can extract more unwanted bitterness or astringency, which can negatively affect the cup.
The C5’s burrs produce significantly fewer fines, allowing you to use finer grind settings while still bringing out the character of the coffee. Its consistent particle size also helps express the bright acidity and delicate flavors often found in light-roasted coffees with greater clarity.
If you enjoy a clean, clear cup, the C5 is a great choice.
